People across the world have come to endure the heart wrenching effects of COVID-19. During these times of hardship and uncertainty, healthcare workers are continually placing their lives and their family's lives on the line to save COVID-19 patients. Not only do they need as much support and applaud as possible, but they also need to fit meals into their restless days. This is the sole reason of why this project has been created. The purpose of our handmade embroidered shirts are to fund free meals for the hardworking medical staff at multiple hospitals in Georgia. We are raising money through selling shirts and receiving donations in order to buy at least 50-100 meals (our minimum goal for each hospital) from the Jinya in Athens, which would then be dropped off (with zero contact) at the hospital. We have been inspired by the owners of Jinya (Athens) who have already donated a total of 90 meals to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital. In order to achieve our goal, we have calculated a break-even analysis based on a minimum of 50 shirt orders in order to pay back fixed costs and the meals provided. The meals that will be provided include (our goal of 50 meals) 15 Chicken Ramen Bowls, 10 Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen Bowls, 15 Chicken Cashu Rice Bowls and 10 Vegan Rice Bowls. (In total, 50 meals cost $521.64 with a 20% discount and tax.) Each shirt will be sold for $15.99.
This is a NOT-FOR-PROFIT project where funding will be used to pay for the exact material expenses put into making the shirts, as well as (and more importantly), meals for medical workers! Buy a shirt from us today in order to directly help those on the frontlines! If uninterested in buying a shirt, we hope you consider donating to our cause!
